The Winter term is underway and we'd like to welcome everyone back to campus. This term promises to be a very exciting one for Tech PD as we, along with DTE and IRS are getting ready for some organizational changes as well as a physical move. Expect more details soon!
As a reminder, one of the first changes to our services happened last fall when we started referring training and support for centrally supported services such as eClass, eClass Live and eCast to the Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL). This includes help with developing and building online courses. You have four ways to contact CTL:
- Online: The Support Centre https://support.elearning.ualberta.ca/ is an online portal to a knowledge base with frequently asked questions and a place to submit written questions or requests for meetings. You can also log in with your CCID and password to track your requests from here.
- Email: elearning@ualberta.ca (the CTL eLearning team guarantees a response within one business day) Sending an email to this address will automatically log your ticket into the online Support Centre mentioned above.
- Phone: Give them a call at 780-492-9372
- In person: Take a walk across the parking lot and visit them in person in Room 140 TELUS Centre
Training sessions offered from CTL can be viewed on their Upcoming Events page or you can download their Winter Term Program .
Tech PD continues to provide monthly Training and PD opportunities. This month we will be hosting a webinar on using Wikipedia in post secondary classrooms, a workshop on the use of student response systems (clickers) and we continue to host Technology Tuesdays, a drop in time to get help with your technology projects. Please visit our Events page for details.
As always, we welcome your comments and suggestions. We hope to see you at one or all of our activities this month!
